VP Product & Strategy
Patrick enjoys bringing everyone together and making things happen through collaboration.
Outside of work, his every waking hour is happily taken up by his wife and daughter, although he does sometimes wish there were fewer waking hours!
Patrick brings the company together through the entire lifecycle of our products. This starts from the development of a cross-functional go to market strategy which states our shared vision of what the product is and how we will work together to bring it to life. To support this strategy, Patrick leads the development of our market understanding, from the initial market sizing up to complex analytical tools which tell us how much each customer stands to benefit from our products. With the strategy agreed, Patrick is on hand to help solve any of the cross-functional challenges that come up as we work to enter a market.
Prior to joining Caeli Nova, Patrick was a consultant and team leader at McKinsey & Company, specialising in advanced analytics and B2B pricing.
Patrick began his career as an aerospace engineer for Rolls-Royce, which is where he found his love for aviation.
Patrick has an MEng in Aerospace Engineering.
Lead Research & Development Engineer
Holly’s positive and upbeat attitude is contagious around the lab.
Although afraid of heights, she has high ambitions to go sky diving. Now that is one way to face your fears!
Holly leads a team of R&D Engineers with a focus on supporting the design team with technical challenges and conceptual testing. Holly is also leading the qualification testing of Cordillera – learning a lot about the certification side of product development having previously focused most of her time on early-stage prototypes. One of Holly’s main strengths is adaptability, which is a great asset to have when working on multiple different areas of the product development lifecycle. Holly is also part of the People team and working closely on the charity initiatives of the company. She also likes to get involved in all Caeli Nova’s social activities.
Prior to joining Caeli Nova, Holly graduated from the Imperial College London with a master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
Research and Design Engineer
Ila enjoys coming up with creative solutions for technical problems.
He has a passion for music and plays classical guitar in his spare time. The Beatles song Blackbird is one of his favourites to play.
Ila is part of the Research and Design Team. His main focus is on developing and validating the mathematical model.
Prior to joining Caeli Nova, Ila graduated from the Imperial College London where he gained his MEng in Aeronautical Engineering. During his studies Ila also completed a yearlong work placement as a Simulator Engineer at Mercedes F1.
Victoria enjoys solving complex accounting problems and seeing the impact that a strong and efficient finance team can bring to an organisation.
She has 3 young boys so “her” hobbies mainly include Lego, Pokémon and chasing around after her boys!
Victoria has end-to-end responsibility for the finance function, including leading and developing the finance team, leading shareholder management and debt activities, owning the business model, and supporting the organisation as we grow to deliver our first commercial contracts.
Prior to joining Caeli Nova, Victoria worked at Ernst & Young (EY) for over 13 years where she held a variety of roles, including CFO of EY-Seren - a digital design consultancy acquisition, various Global Finance roles and she initially joined in a client facing role in the modelling team specialising in the Health Sector.
Previously, Victoria completed the Finance Graduate scheme at Rolls-Royce, spending time in UK and America, whilst working in Civil, Turbines, Helicopters and ultimately the Strategy and Corporate Development team.
Victoria is CIMA qualified and has a Mathematics BSc (Hons) from the University of Nottingham.
Olivier has strong problem-solving skills and is keen to explore new concepts.
He enjoys urban dance, running and football.
Olivier supports the design team in subsystem design, CAD modelling and FEA analysis.
Prior to joining us, Olivier graduated in General Engineering with a major in Mechanical Design and Industrialisation at EIGSI located in La Rochelle, in France. For his final year he studied for an MSc in Aerospace Vehicle Design focused on aircraft design at Cranfield University. Olivier’s MSc at Cranfield gave him the opportunity to work on exciting projects such as the aerodynamic design of a crescent wing for transonic aircraft and the structural design of the fin of an eVTOL aircraft.
Olivier has an MSc in Mechanical Design and Industrialisation from EIGSI and an MSc in Aerospace Vehicle Design from Cranfield.
Senior Research & Development Engineer
Kevin loves learning about people and their ideas. He combines this passion with an analytical approach to maximise team achievements.
Kevin seeks out adventure whether it’s exploring a new place or learning a new skill. At the moment he enjoys running and bouldering.
Kevin provides technical and strategic support to the technical team.
Prior to joining Caeli Nova, Kevin worked at Heatric, a division of Meggitt. His focus was helping to design bespoke printed circuit heat exchangers for clients.
Previously, he was a Lead Stress Engineer at Cobham Mission Systems. He led the mechanical design, development and qualification testing of one of their major development programmes.
Kevin is a Chartered Engineer and member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers.
Chief of the Office of Airworthiness
Mayte’s analytical approach and insatiability for learning are her biggest strengths.
Outside of work, Mayte has ambitions to return to mastering Karate to achieve her second DAN black belt.
Mayte is responsible for interpreting and coordinating airworthiness matters, liaising with the aviation authorities and ensuring the Design Organisation Handbook is maintained in accordance with regulations.
Prior to joining Caeli Nova, Mayte was a Certification Engineer at JCB Aéro before moving into the same position at CDG, a Boeing company. At JCB Aéro and CDG, Mayte worked as part of the EASA DOA team, preparing and checking certification, compliance and maintenance documentation for cabin interior modifications of a variety of VIP and commercial aircraft.
Mayte has a Master of Science in Aeronautical Engineering, and qualifications specialising in EASA regulations (Part 21 J and G, Part 145, Part M).
Chief Technology Officer
Rob is adept at simplifying tasks and providing a vision of how Caeli Nova can take manageable steps towards developing future products.
A keen road cyclist, Rob spends as much time as he can on the bike. Whether it is being out on the road, or jumping on the turbo trainer on Zwift, Rob can’t get enough of cycling!
Rob was one of the first members of Caeli Nova back in 2018, and since then his role as Chief Technical Officer has evolved enormously. Rob’s role is to ensure we have the right team, facilities and partnerships in place to deliver all Caeli Nova’s technical outputs. He then supports the team to ensure our products meet the needs of our customers and create a positive impact on the world.
Prior to joining Caeli Nova, Rob studied Mechanical Engineering at Warwick University more than 20 years ago. Shortly after graduation he joined the Defence Evaluation Research Agency (DERA), which then became QinetiQ. At DERA he was a Flight Test Engineer, working with engineers and test pilots to trial modifications to military combat aircraft, ensuring they were safe to enter service. Rob was selected to attend The Empire Test Pilots’ School Flight Test Engineers course No. 28 in 2004 and after graduation worked as a civilian on the RAF’s Fast Jet Test Squadron.
In 2006, he joined Marshall Aerospace as Lead Flight Test Engineer on the A400M Flying Test Bed - an experimental aircraft designed to test the A400M TP400 power plant, on the wing of a C130K aircraft. At Marshall he worked in a number of roles, including Head of Flight Test Engineering and Chief Engineer, leading a design team converting a Global 6000 aircraft into an aerodynamic test vehicle for a special missions conversion programme.
In 2013, Rob moved to Amazon as the lead UAS test operator for the UK Prime Air programme. In this role he supported some of the early designs for the Prime Air programme and established Amazon’s initial experimental approvals, including their first EVLOS approval.
In 2014, Rob returned to Marshall ADG, initially as Head of Engineering for Military Programmes and then as Programme Director for Military Programmes. In these roles, Rob was accountable for delivering design and upgrade programmes to a number of military customers.
Cristina Vazquez Reynel
Cristina’s adaptability and passion to challenge herself to learn new things everyday are her key strengths.
Outside of Caeli Nova, Cristina is an analogue astronaut! She is looking forward to her first expedition conducting activities in simulated space conditions.
Cristina finds creative design solutions and then develops these ideas into tangible products. Her areas of focus are customer requirements, certification, CAD modelling, material selection and manufacturing processes.
Prior to joining Caeli Nova, Cristina was a Mechanical Design Engineer for L3Harris, taking part in many aspects of commercial flight simulator design.
Previously, she worked in Technical Publications and as a Quality Engineer in the final assembly line of the Airbus A400M.
Cristina has a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering and has a Master of Science in Aerospace Materials.
Engineering Integration Lead
Kaoru is great at bringing people together. She is good at problem solving and working in a team.
She enjoys giving her free time to volunteering at St John Ambulance as an event first aider.
Kaoru uses her excellent organisational, technical and leadership skills to drive the organisation to deliver our first product Cordillera.
Prior to joining Caeli Nova, Kaoru worked for Rolls-Royce as a Project Engineer for Gas Turbine Performance and Aerothermal Systems on the Trent7000 engine.
Kaoru is a Chartered Engineer and has a Master's degree in Engineering and Business Management.
Research & Development Engineer
Joe has a passion for problem solving and secretly enjoys a good head scratcher to mull over.
An avid hockey player, Joe has played for the Scottish national team.
Joe is part of the Research and Development Team, exploring new ideas for the company and running tests to identify whether they can bring these ideas into reality. Joe and his team also test out concepts developed by the Design Team.
Prior to joining Caeli Nova, Joe studied at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow where he gained his Master of Engineering in Chemical Engineering. He undertook his Master’s thesis at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos in Madrid.
Head of Product Engineering
Puja enjoys problem solving and building relationships with people.
She keeps active with dance, yoga and cardio classes, and is also learning the guitar.
Puja is responsible for leading and coordinating design and integration activities to ensure we have the right resource and skills to develop an airworthy product in line with our business requirements. Puja is also part of the People Team, developing and driving initiatives that help us grow personally and professionally.
Prior to joining Caeli Nova, Puja worked for Rolls-Royce as a Project Development Engineering Manager on commercial jet engines, leading a team of 20 engineers. During her seven years at Rolls-Royce, Puja took on a number of roles including: Development Engineer, Development Technical Lead, Chief of Sub-System for Controls R&T and Sub-system Integrator.
Previously, Puja worked for Shell as a Mechanical Engineer on an oil refinery. In this role, she looked after the day-to-day operation of her production unit and led installation projects.
Puja has a Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering.
Pablo Reguera Duran
Pablo has a creative flair for CAD designs and using CFD.
He loves playing Padel, which is a mixture between tennis and squash. For Pablo, it is a social, engaging and addictive team sport.
Pablo leads the design and integration of the Cordillera human interface and sub-systems.
Prior to joining Caeli Nova, Pablo gained a Masters of Science in CFD at Cranfield University and performed the Master Thesis and NRG in the Netherlands, carrying out fluid simulations using OpenFoam and Ansys Fluent within nuclear reactors.
Previously, Pablo joined the CERN’s technical programme as a Mechanical Engineer. Here, he completed his Bachelor thesis on the mechanical study of the CMS detector at the Large Hadron Collider.
During his studies in aerospace engineering in Seville, Pablo worked for Trigo Qualitaire as a subcontractor of Airbus on the A400M Final Assembly Line as a Quality Engineer.
Lead Research & Development Engineer
Arthur takes a scientific approach to research and development, experimental design and data analysis. He also leads in establishing a safety culture for the lab.
Back home he is known as Uther Pendragon for reasons you will find out if you get the opportunity!
Arthur leads Research & Development projects focussed on the development and testing of our prototypes. Arthur is also part of the People team, focusing on recruitment and onboarding new employees.
Prior to joining Caeli Nova, Arthur graduated from the University of Cambridge with a Master of Science in Materials Science.
Tim enjoys building and developing our team at Caeli Nova and working to strengthen relationships with partners in our industry.
He has the travelling bug and tries to visit a new country every year.
Tim has been at Caeli Nova since we started the company. He has worked on everything from the development of our initial business plan and the hiring of our first team members, through to leading discussions with our future customers, investors and potential aerospace industry partners and planning our entry into future markets. In his role, Tim is ultimately accountable for all Caeli Nova’s functions, including technology, finance, operations, supply chain and business development.
Prior to joining Caeli Nova, Tim was a Project Leader at Boston Consulting Group in London, where he was a core member of the Industrial Goods practice area. He worked to help clients across Europe on a range of strategic and operational projects.
Previously, Tim held supply chain positions at Rolls-Royce and spent time in the UK, Germany and China, whilst working with aerospace suppliers around the world.
Tim has an MBA from IMD.
VP Supply Chain
Graham is good with complex problems, seeing the bigger picture and providing novel solutions.
As a classic car enthusiast, you may see him taking his TVR Griffith 500 out for a spin!
Graham finds the best quality, value and delivery performance in the supply chain. This can cover physical hardware, assembly and test services as well as support services such as warehousing and final customer fulfilment.
Prior to joining Caeli Nova, Graham held the role of Operations Plant Manager at Hale Hamilton Valves Ltd. (Circor Inc) and was responsible for running the new build and aftermarket areas for a flow control business – making valves, regulators and flow management systems. He had responsibility for the continuous improvement programme within the business, as well as the supply chain.
Early on in his career, Graham spent three years at Hybrid Air Vehicles, working on a first-of-its-type aerospace development project for the US government, using lighter than air technology. During this time, Graham developed his skills in aircraft integration and certification for full flight based on ‘fly by light’ technology, known as full optical flight control communications networks. The 300ft long vehicle took its successful maiden flight in August 2012.
Graham holds a Bachelor’s in Applied Chemistry from the University of Portsmouth, and an MBA from the University of Southampton. In his MBA, he specialised in ‘Make versus Buy’ policies in Aerospace businesses.
Supply Chain Manager
Christos enjoys problem solving and finding innovative solutions through close collaboration with our team and partners.
He loves everything to do with the sea and is a keen enthusiast on sailing and powerboating.
Christos is responsible for leading and coordinating supply chain activities while developing and nurturing strong relationships with our suppliers and partners through long term engagement and mutual interests.
Prior to joining Caeli Nova, Christos was a Supply Chain Manager at Honeywell Aerospace, where he held a leadership role on the Materials and Logistics aftermarket business providing services to some of the biggest European airlines.
Previously, Christos held Engineering and Quality positions at Rolls-Royce and Honeywell.
Christos has a PhD from Cranfield University and an MBA from Imperial College London.
Dr. Simisola Oke
Medical Research Manager
Simisola learns quickly and communicates difficult concepts clearly and concisely.
She loves a game of netball. Since playing competitively at university, she continues to play today with her old NHS colleagues.
Simisola is our Medical Research Manager. Her role centres around planning and executing the medical and clinical trials required to demonstrate the safety and effectiveness of Caeli Nova’s products. Simisola’s work supports Caeli Nova to achieve the necessary certifications. She is also medical advisor to the Research and Development team, addressing any medical or physiology questions. A key member of the team, Simisola supports with stakeholder management as well as new technology application discovery.
Simisola describes herself as a huge extrovert: she loves meeting new people and enjoys working on projects that support the development of team and company culture. She utilises these attributes as a member of the People team.
Prior to joining Caeli Nova, Simisola was an academic junior doctor in the NHS having recently graduated from St George’s, University of London with a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) and a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management from Imperial College London. She decided to put her medical training on hold to explore research in aviation and space medicine, which she has found to be an exciting journey to date.
Head of Design Organisation
Dominik utilises his strong organisational skills to help him negotiate complex issues in a highly regulated environment.
He loves being in the mountains, whether it’s taking part in winter sports, or enjoying the view with good company and great food.
Dominik is based in Switzerland and is responsible for leading and coordinating our UK CAA and EASA DOAs, ensuring that our products are successfully installed and certified in our customers aircraft.
Prior to joining Caeli Nova, Dominik held the role as Chief of Office of Airworthiness and Regulatory Affairs Manager for Medical Devices at Bucher Leichtbau Group.
Previously, Dominik carried out various testing in Bucher’s office of Airworthiness as a certification engineer.
Dominik has Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation.
Research and Development Engineer
Fiona enjoys puzzles and problem solving. As well as engineering she is interested in physiology and medicine.
She loves any sport that involves being outside, especially rowing. She has competed as both a rower and coxswain for many years.
Fiona is part of the Research and Design Team. Her main focus is on prototype development.
Prior to joining Caeli Nova, Fiona graduated from the Queen Mary University of London where she gained her masters in Biomedical Engineering. Fiona also holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Birmingham in Mechanical Engineering.
Dr. Nicolò Favero
Medical Research Associate
Nicolò is a team player and enjoys working with a fun and productive team.
He has a passion for aviation and enjoys a last-minute flight to travel the world.
Nicolò helps to design and run clinical trials to demonstrate the efficiency and safety of our products.
Prior to joining Caeli Nova, Nicolò worked in Intensive care in London.
Previously Nicolò worked in Emergency Medicine in Darwin, Australia.
Nicolò graduated from the University of Newcastle with an MBBS and Master of Research in Medical Sciences. He completed his Medical Foundation Programme in the Oxford Deanery.
Eleanor enjoys seeking opportunities to broaden her knowledge. She loves taking on a challenge in undertaking new projects or responsibilities.
She is a foodie and enjoys all types of cuisine, particularly something with a bit of spice. In her own words she would say that she has a mild obsession with all things related to chilli!
Eleanor supports the CFO and has the financial responsibilities and associated tasks for monthly and yearly reporting.
Prior to joining Caeli Nova, Eleanor worked at Ernst & Young (EY) for 14 years where she held a variety of finance roles, including maternity cover for the CFO of EY-Seren Ltd. Her experience includes restructures, system implementations and acquisition on-boarding.
Previously, Eleanor worked in accounts payable and accounts receivable roles for a technology company.
Eleanor is CIMA qualified at management level.
Senior Manufacturing Engineer
With more than 25 years of manufacturing experience across the automotive and aerospace industries, Martin brings invaluable knowledge to the table.
When it’s time to unwind he enjoys all things Land Rover, such as Green Laning and overlanding.
Martin designs and develops the human interface for our first product, Cordillera. He helps design and build prototypes for testing and provides manufacturing input to all sub-systems.
Prior to joining us, Martin was a Principal Manufacturing Engineer for Auxitrol Weston, manufacturing sensors for gas turbine engines in the aerospace industry.
In his early career, Martin worked at automotive based companies, starting out with Southco making “access hardware”. Here, he gained experience in a broad range of processes and materials. He then moved onto Siemens VDO automotive, where he set-up several production lines for the manufacture of the “common module” fuel tanks and fuel systems for what was then the Premier Automotive Group (Ford, Aston Martin, Jaguar, Landover and Volvo).
Martin has an HND in Mechanical Engineering and a BSc (Hons) in Technology Management.
Raj has over 15 years’ experience in Procurement and Commercial management within the aviation industry spanning across several areas including Airline Catering, Ground Handling and Airport Charges. She has worked cross functionally in both commercial and finance roles.
She has a passion for travelling and has been fortunate enough to see some outstanding places. Some of her favourite experiences include island hopping in Thailand, hiking in Yosemite National Park, and visiting the rainforests of Borneo!
Raj supports the development of Caeli Nova’s integrated supply chain processes across the supply base to enhance both customer and supplier experience. In addition, she supports operational excellence techniques to improve processes and remove waste. She is also focused on the development and implementation of the supply chain operating system.
Prior to joining Caeli Nova, Raj was a Senior Buyer at International Airlines Group managing end of end sourcing in Ground Handling for the USA and Canada region and briefly worked as a Senior Buyer for the Airport Charges team for the Group.
Previously, Raj worked in Revenue Assurance for the EMEA region for Menzies Aviation auditing their operations, finance and billing processes across several airports to identify revenue leakage and revenue opportunities.
Earlier, Raj was a Commercial and Pricing Manager for a start-up airline catering company managing their commercial and supplier relationships as well as their end-to-end sourcing requirements. She worked with stakeholders in a manufacturing environment, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver efficiencies and cost savings.
Raj has an undergraduate degree in Law from Brunel university. She is also studying for her Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA) qualification and her Chartered Institute for Procurement and Supply qualification (CIPS).
Sam enjoys taking a focused and creative approach to his work.
He is a keen sportsman and enjoys being active. He particularly likes a team sport and loves to play football.
Sam supports the design team in subsystem design, CAD modelling, design validation and qualification.
Prior to joining us, Sam graduated from the University of Strathclyde with a Masters in Aero-Mechanical Engineering. This included a semester on exchange in Singapore at Nanyang Technological University.
Product Airworthiness Manager
Jamie has a talent for remaining positive and motivating others through adversity.
He has a passion for triathlon. He completed an Ironman back in 2011 but his favourite event is the “Helvellyn triathlon” which he has completed 4 times, so far. These days, triathlon training has been replaced with trying to keep up with his three children, which is far more challenging and rewarding.
Jamie works with the Design, Medical, Research and Development teams to demonstrate that Caeli Nova’s technology is compliant with airworthiness regulation.
Prior to joining Caeli Nova, Jamie was Head of Technical Services at Marshall Aerospace. He was responsible for a team of engineers providing technical support to military aircraft operators around the world to ensure their fleets’ airworthiness, availability and capability.
Previously, Jamie began his career as an aerospace design engineer at Westland Helicopters, before moving on to flight test at QinetiQ Boscombe Down.
Jamie has a Masters Degree in Engineering from the University of Manchester and is a Chartered Engineer.
Senior Design Engineer
Jarred is a very practical engineer and loves getting stuck into the hands-on aspects of designing.
He has a passion for travelling and moved to the UK from New Zealand to gain access to Europe. He’s already ticked off central Italy and Berlin!
Jarred leads the design and development of the Cordillera key sub-systems and looks at how we bolster our design capability.
Prior to joining Caeli Nova, Jarred was a Design Engineer at AIM Altitude in New Zealand. His role gave him the opportunity to design products such as bars, galleys and front-row monuments from the initial stages through to production.
Jarred has a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering with Honors Degree from the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand.
Imran bin Ahmad Azhar
Imran has strong determination to succeed and has a passion for his work, especially when it is applied to the aviation industry.
He is a huge fan of motorsports: Formula 1, MotoGP, anything to do with fast cars! He also enjoys bouldering, ultimate frisbee and playing piano.
Imran works on continuously developing and enhancing the route benefit model for Cordillera. This is used to calculate the cost, distance and fuel reduction for airlines when using Cordillera compared to conventional emergency oxygen systems.
Prior to joining Caeli Nova, Imran was a Wind Turbine Engineer for Pleasant Quantum Rise. His role involved helping design and develop an efficient Diffuser Augmented Wind Turbine for use as a home product/integration.
Imran has a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the Imperial College of London.
Every member of our team has been selected for their energy and passion. Developing a new product with groundbreaking technology is not easy, however by understanding and celebrating our individual strengths, each team member is empowered to make a significant contribution to the success of the business. We also like to play a lot of ping-pong!
