Victoria Salter
Chief Financial Officer
Victoria enjoys solving complex accounting problems and seeing the impact that a strong and efficient finance team can bring to an organisation.
She has 3 young boys so “her” hobbies mainly include Lego, Pokémon and chasing around after her boys!
Victoria has end-to-end responsibility for the finance function, including leading and developing the finance team, leading shareholder management and debt activities, owning the business model, and supporting the organisation as we grow to deliver our first commercial contracts.
Prior to joining Caeli Nova, Victoria worked at Ernst & Young (EY) for over 13 years where she held a variety of roles, including CFO of EY-Seren - a digital design consultancy acquisition, various Global Finance roles and she initially joined in a client facing role in the modelling team specialising in the Health Sector.
Previously, Victoria completed the Finance Graduate scheme at Rolls-Royce, spending time in UK and America, whilst working in Civil, Turbines, Helicopters and ultimately the Strategy and Corporate Development team.
Victoria is CIMA qualified and has a Mathematics BSc (Hons) from the University of Nottingham.


Rob Boyle
Chief Technology Officer
Rob is adept at simplifying tasks and providing a vision of how Caeli Nova can take manageable steps towards developing future products.
A keen road cyclist, Rob spends as much time as he can on the bike. Whether it is being out on the road, or jumping on the turbo trainer on Zwift, Rob can’t get enough of cycling!
Rob was one of the first members of Caeli Nova back in 2018, and since then his role as Chief Technical Officer has evolved enormously. Rob’s role is to ensure we have the right team, facilities and partnerships in place to deliver all Caeli Nova’s technical outputs. He then supports the team to ensure our products meet the needs of our customers and create a positive impact on the world.
Prior to joining Caeli Nova, Rob studied Mechanical Engineering at Warwick University more than 20 years ago. Shortly after graduation he joined the Defence Evaluation Research Agency (DERA), which then became QinetiQ. At DERA he was a Flight Test Engineer, working with engineers and test pilots to trial modifications to military combat aircraft, ensuring they were safe to enter service. Rob was selected to attend The Empire Test Pilots’ School Flight Test Engineers course No. 28 in 2004 and after graduation worked as a civilian on the RAF’s Fast Jet Test Squadron.
In 2006, he joined Marshall Aerospace as Lead Flight Test Engineer on the A400M Flying Test Bed - an experimental aircraft designed to test the A400M TP400 power plant, on the wing of a C130K aircraft. At Marshall he worked in a number of roles, including Head of Flight Test Engineering and Chief Engineer, leading a design team converting a Global 6000 aircraft into an aerodynamic test vehicle for a special missions conversion programme.
In 2013, Rob moved to Amazon as the lead UAS test operator for the UK Prime Air programme. In this role he supported some of the early designs for the Prime Air programme and established Amazon’s initial experimental approvals, including their first EVLOS approval.
In 2014, Rob returned to Marshall ADG, initially as Head of Engineering for Military Programmes and then as Programme Director for Military Programmes. In these roles, Rob was accountable for delivering design and upgrade programmes to a number of military customers.


Joe McConnell
Lead Research & Development Engineer
Joe has a passion for problem solving and secretly enjoys a good head scratcher to mull over.
An avid hockey player, Joe has played for the Scottish national team.
Joe is part of the Research and Development Team, exploring new ideas for the company and running tests to identify whether they can bring these ideas into reality. Joe and his team also test out concepts developed by the Design Team.
Prior to joining Caeli Nova, Joe studied at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow where he gained his Master of Engineering in Chemical Engineering. He undertook his Master’s thesis at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos in Madrid.


Arthur Kuenzi
Head of Research & Development
Arthur takes a scientific approach to research and development, experimental design and data analysis. He also leads in establishing a safety culture for the lab.
Back home he is known as Uther Pendragon for reasons you will find out if you get the opportunity!
Arthur leads Research & Development projects focussed on the development and testing of our prototypes. Arthur is also part of the People team, focusing on recruitment and onboarding new employees.
Prior to joining Caeli Nova, Arthur graduated from the University of Cambridge with a Master of Science in Materials Science.


Tim Wakeford
CEO
Tim enjoys building and developing our team at Caeli Nova and working to strengthen relationships with partners in our industry.
He has the travelling bug and tries to visit a new country every year.
Tim has been at Caeli Nova since we started the company. He has worked on everything from the development of our initial business plan and the hiring of our first team members, through to leading discussions with our future customers, investors and potential aerospace industry partners and planning our entry into future markets. In his role, Tim is ultimately accountable for all Caeli Nova’s functions, including technology, finance, operations, supply chain and business development.
Prior to joining Caeli Nova, Tim was a Project Leader at Boston Consulting Group in London, where he was a core member of the Industrial Goods practice area. He worked to help clients across Europe on a range of strategic and operational projects.
Previously, Tim held supply chain positions at Rolls-Royce and spent time in the UK, Germany and China, whilst working with aerospace suppliers around the world.
Tim has an MBA from IMD.


Dominik Schläpfer
Director Engineering & Business Development Switzerland
Dominik utilises his strong organisational skills to help him negotiate complex issues in a highly regulated environment.
He loves being in the mountains, whether it’s taking part in winter sports, or enjoying the view with good company and great food.
Dominik is based in Switzerland and is responsible for leading and coordinating our UK CAA and EASA DOAs, ensuring that our products are successfully installed and certified in our customers aircraft.
Prior to joining Caeli Nova, Dominik held the role as Chief of Office of Airworthiness and Regulatory Affairs Manager for Medical Devices at Bucher Leichtbau Group.
Previously, Dominik carried out various testing in Bucher’s office of Airworthiness as a certification engineer.
Dominik has Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation.


Eleanor Brien
Financial Controller & Operations Lead
Eleanor enjoys seeking opportunities to broaden her knowledge. She loves taking on a challenge in undertaking new projects or responsibilities.
She is a foodie and enjoys all types of cuisine, particularly something with a bit of spice. In her own words she would say that she has a mild obsession with all things related to chilli!
Eleanor supports the CFO and has the financial responsibilities and associated tasks for monthly and yearly reporting.
Prior to joining Caeli Nova, Eleanor worked at Ernst & Young (EY) for 14 years where she held a variety of finance roles, including maternity cover for the CFO of EY-Seren Ltd. Her experience includes restructures, system implementations and acquisition on-boarding.
Previously, Eleanor worked in accounts payable and accounts receivable roles for a technology company.
Eleanor is CIMA qualified at management level.


Sam Laverty
Senior Design Engineer
Sam enjoys taking a focused and creative approach to his work.
He is a keen sportsman and enjoys being active. He particularly likes a team sport and loves to play football.
Sam supports the design team in subsystem design, CAD modelling, design validation and qualification.
Prior to joining us, Sam graduated from the University of Strathclyde with a Masters in Aero-Mechanical Engineering. This included a semester on exchange in Singapore at Nanyang Technological University.


Imran bin Ahmad Azhar
Research & Development Engineer
Imran has strong determination to succeed and has a passion for his work, especially when it is applied to the aviation industry.
He is a huge fan of motorsports: Formula 1, MotoGP, anything to do with fast cars! He also enjoys bouldering, ultimate frisbee and playing piano.
Imran works on continuously developing and enhancing the route benefit model for Cordillera. This is used to calculate the cost, distance and fuel reduction for airlines when using Cordillera compared to conventional emergency oxygen systems.
Prior to joining Caeli Nova, Imran was a Wind Turbine Engineer for Pleasant Quantum Rise. His role involved helping design and develop an efficient Diffuser Augmented Wind Turbine for use as a home product/integration.
Imran has a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the Imperial College of London.


Daryn Goodwin
Medical Research Associate
Daryn employs his exceptional problem-solving skills and resourcefulness, particularly under pressure, to navigate complex challenges efficiently.
He enjoys practising sport and is an avid enthusiast of craft beer and hot sauce. Daryn also plays guitar and has a passion for extreme metal music. His love for travel has taken him to 40 countries across all continents except Antarctica.
As a Medical Research Associate at Caeli Nova, Daryn Goodwin is dedicated to coordinating and monitoring clinical trials, ensuring the safety and well-being of participants.Before joining Caeli Nova, Daryn gained extensive experience in various hospitals, specializing in heart and lung surgery.
His journey in the medical field began in Australia, where he also completed a PhD in Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Queensland's Institute of Molecular Bioscience, gaining valuable experience in both pre-clinical and clinical trials.


Hannes Hagson
Medical Research Associate
Hannes’ strengths lie in his dedication and persistence in getting a task done, and he sure does love finding adventures wherever they may be.
As our Medical Research Associate, Hannes supports the development of our products, and helps plan and run safe medical trials to test our products and show how they meet the regulations and criteria for certification.
Prior to Caeli Nova, he worked as a Consultant in Public Health Medicine and was a public health doctor during the Covid-19 pandemic. He also spent 13 months as the European Space Agency Research Physician at Concordia Station in Antarctica, carrying out biomedical experiments to expand our knowledge of how humans can cope with isolated, confined and extreme environments such as the moon or Mars.
Hannes has an MBBS from King’s College London as well as an MSc in Global Health and Epidemiology from the University of Oxford.
