We are looking for an R&D engineer to join our London-based team and help us develop exciting new products, based on our innovative technology, by developing and testing system prototypes.

This is a broad and varied role. You will support the design and development of our first product, Cordillera, which will improve safety, reduce carbon emissions and save millions of dollars for the aerospace industry. You will also be involved in other future products across a number of industries. As part of the R&D team, you will get involved in every element of product development, from developing initial concepts to medical trials. You will be joining a diverse team, who collaborate closely to solve challenging problems that will make a huge difference to a range of industries, whilst having fun together along the way!

We are looking for a creative, self-motivating team player who is excited about working in a fast-paced environment. A breadth of technical skills and interests is essential. We are open to considering people from a variety of scientific & engineering backgrounds. Suitable candidates are likely to have, or be on course, to gain a 1st class or 2:1 degree in any of the following (or related) disciplines:

  • Aerospace Engineering
  • Biomedical Engineering
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Electrical and Electronic Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering

Suitable candidates will be able to demonstrate:

  • An interest in supporting a team to quickly develop new ideas for solving complex technical problems
  • An ability to communicate clearly and confidently with people from diverse professional backgrounds
  • A good understanding of fluid mechanics

Some experience in the following areas would be beneficial:

  • Academic or industrial research and development (gained after graduation or during an engineering internship)
  • Agile product development and/or rapid prototyping 
  • Programming, ideally interfacing with sensors and basic electronic hardware 
  • Aerospace or medical industries

Ideal candidates are also likely to be:

  • Passionate about improving the sustainability of air travel and/or improving human performance in extreme environments
  • Willing to take on a variety of different technical challenges, whenever needed
  • Comfortable being personally accountable for projects
  • Proactive, well organised and self-motivated
